I am Alexander Bennett, the independent consultant behind Valid Volition.
I help small businesses, charities, independent professionals, and specialist organisations clarify their position, strengthen their communications, and turn complex projects into practical action.
My work brings together strategy, communications, advisory support, and digital delivery. That may mean defining a clearer offer, planning a campaign, assessing a difficult project, or improving the systems that support an organisation’s work.
My background includes government-facing and public-affairs environments, large-scale ground and digital campaigns, international election observation, project delivery, and specialist United Nations Peacekeeping-Intelligence training.

My earlier career involved work across government-facing, public-affairs, and campaign environments.
I have managed and supported large-scale campaigns combining digital communications with substantial activity on the ground. This required the coordination of people, messages, audiences, logistics, and competing priorities across fast-moving environments.
My experience has included:

Election observation and UN PKI training.
I have undertaken domestic election training from the Electoral Commission and international election observation with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), assessing electoral processes, recording findings, and working in environments where impartiality, accuracy, and evidence matter.
Election observation requires close attention to systems, procedures, conduct, and the wider context in which decisions are made. It strengthened my ability to assess complex situations carefully, distinguish evidence from assumption, and report findings clearly.
I have also completed specialist United Nations Peacekeeping-Intelligence (UN PKI) training through the United Nations System Staff College.
